One Be Lo made his splash in the underground hip-hop realm as part of the duo Binary Star. He and Senim Silla dropped the seminal Detroit classic Masters of the Universe in 2000 to little mainstream fanfare. But the backpackers and underground heads were all over it, praising the album's gritty beats and outstanding wordplay. While the duo hasn't delivered a follow-up, yet, the two MCs have branched out and dropped some solid solo efforts, especially One Be Lo. Since Binary Star's debut, he has dropped a steady stream of albums and mixtapes. And his latest, B.A.B.Y. (Being A Black Youth), features more guest MCs than his previous records. Typically, you get one or two guests at the most on his albums. But on here, One Be Lo is spitting alongside Freeway, Devin the Dude, Phonte, Royce Da 5'9", Jean Grae, Guilty Simpson, and others.
