Olivia Tremor Control, one of the better (and worst-named) bands to come out of the Elephant 6 collective, which also produced Neutral Milk Hotel and Apples in Stereo, has been almost as suspiciously absent as original band member Jeff Mangum has this decade. The band hasn't released new material since 1999’s Black Foliage. After a temporary reunion in 2005 and a handful of solo projects, Olivia Tremor Control returned in a big way in 2008 (along with Mangum and other Elephant 6 vets) for a Holiday Surprise Tour. With some newfound interest from indie fans -- Neutral Milk Hotel’s influence had only grown stronger by 2008 -- Olivia Tremor Control is reissuing Black Foliage, an album that was arguably as heralded as In an Aeroplane Over the Sea in its time.
