On the heels of Backstage Passport, their reality show on Fuse, aging pop-punkers NOFX are back with their 12th studio album. Coaster, appropriately enough, features 12 tracks and has Fat Mike and the guys tackling subjects you would have thought they'd covered well by now. There's plenty of talk of drug abuse on "The Quitter" and "I Am an Alcoholic," and they bemoan the dark side of organized religion on "Blasphemy (The Victimless Crime)" and "Best God in Show." Still, they have broken some new ground with "Creeping Out Sara," a song about a backstage run-in with half of Tegan and Sara. Coaster will be intriguing if for no other reason than to see how these guys fill out an album of lefty angst now that the Bush Administration has ended. Plus, it's bound to be a good way to brush up on your pharmacology.
