It's easy to forget that Nick Lachey was once a singer. Before he and Jessica Simpson became America's favorite dysfunctional newlyweds, Lachey and his fellow sopmongers in 98 degrees, were a formidable presence on MTV's now defunct TRL and milquetoast radio everywhere. Well, a lot has changed since then, and Lachey's comeback record, Coming Up for Air, has been marooned in production limbo for years. The album's first single, "Patience," (a cover of another washed-up boy band Take That's comeback single) was released in 2008, and the following year, another single "All In My Head," premiered on teen dramedy One Tree Hill. As of January 2010, reports state that Lachey's label, Jive, shelved the album, and it remains to be seen if Coming Up for Air ever does surface.
