Review

When he debuted in 2003 with his self-titled album, Nick Cannon was taking his music career seriously. And why not? Even though he wasn't the strongest rapper or singer, he had a few successful singles, most notably “Gigolo” with R. Kelly. Cannon attempted to make another splash with a pair of singles off a planned sophomore album, but Stages was shelved indefinitely. And from there, Cannon primarily focused on his comedy and acting gigs, which have culminated here with Mr. Showbiz. It's an all-out comedy album that features Akon and coincides with the release of a stand-up comedy special.
