"The Neptunes is what we do, but N*E*R*D* is who we are." ~ Pharrell
By now it should go without saying that a N*E*R*D* album will scarcely resemble ringleader Pharrell or any of the Neptunes' productions for mainstream pop artists. The trio, rounded out by Chad Hugo and Shae Haley, takes a more kitchen sink approach to music, often resulting in something between hardly listenable and faintly bizarre. That said, the easy charm of early leak "Everybody Nose" suggests a more moderate approach on the group's third record.
