Review

For his sixth proper album, Musiq Soulchild looked to tackle love and relationships with his lyrics. This, of course, is not much of a shocker considering his previous output leading up to MUSIQINTHEMAGIQ. What has changed here, though, is that the crooner is looking at love realistically, "rather than [dealing with the] more fantastical things people do," according to an interview with Billboard. He continued to say that he would "rather talk about things that go on everyday, things people can identify with." And he's doing this over production with a very strong hip-hop base, though the album boasts a style influenced by blues, jazz, soul, and even classical.
