Steven Morrissey, formerly of the 80’s post-synth, pre-alt rock band The Smiths, has a variety of solo work under his pompadour. In a letter to fans, Morrissey apologized for missing a plethora of 2009 concert dates due to a throat condition, but made up for the disappointment by announcing some exciting Moz news. Following the release of his 2009 effort, Morrissey is preparing to release Sworda, a compilation of 18 B-Sides assembled from his past three records, including You Are the Quarry, Ringleader of the Tormentors, and Years of Refusal. Details of the record itself have been scant prior to its release, but do we know that Swords is produced by Tony Visconti, Gustavo Santaolalla, and Jerry Finn and is due to come out on October 27, 2009 on Polydor Records.
