After spending a few songs figuring out how to name drop (blah blah blah Apples in Stereo blah blah blah Beulah), something magical happened. I arrived upon a song that transformed Monolith's pseudo-1996 alternative synth-pop tone and gave it some redeeming value. The song was "Impossible You," and it sounded like an imitation of all things Beatles-related, provided it was inspired by John Lennon and not the slightly less-legendary Paul (or Ringo, but who's keeping track?). The Beatles influence stuck throughout the final song, "Trilogy," and it was then that I decided all bands -- or at least the ones that don't already -- would be better off if they just emulated the damn Beatles.
