Like they have done in the past, Mogwai prepped both a full-length and EP for 2011. The former came in February in Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, the post rock outfit's seventh album. Then, seven months later, they would follow the album with the Earth Division EP. The release features a distinct turn from its predecessor as Mogwai has used the EP as a means of experimenting with a blend of distortion, keys, and strings.
