Whatever momentum Mobb Deep had following the release of 2006's Blood Money came to a halt when one half of the duo, Prodigy, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison in 2007. Upon his release in March 2011, he reunited with Havoc to begin working on new Mobb Deep material, such as the Nas-assisted "Dog Shit." The duo would go on to announce plans to record Mobb Deep EP, an independently released effort and their first since Blood Money. Expect production from Havoc and frequent collaborators Sid Roams and the Alchemist, who both appeared on Prodigy's The Ellsworth Bumpy Johnson EP.
