Italian-born Misstress Barbara has built a career on hard-driving techno beats. Her previous releases have been intense voyages into the depths of techno, tailor-made for dance-floor madness. But with age and experience comes change, and so Misstress Barbara, like all good musicians, has evolved her sound beyond the techno that originally gave her life. This is not a bad thing: Come With Me builds upon Misstress Barbara's techno sounds, incorporating flourishes of funky house, electro and minimal techno without ever missing a beat.

There is something for everyone here, from the opening kicker of Sebo K's "Too Hot" to the squelchy funk of Boysnoize's "He-Man." The mix rarely lets up, even while constantly switching to different genres and sounds. Things remain high-energy with the track selection firmly rooted in the underground. It's nice to listen to a mix whose tracks have been picked because of their vibe rather than for some political purpose or marketing scheme. Come With Me will please fans of the queen of techno while at the same time opening her sound up to limitless possibilities.
