On his second album, Mika explores the themes of being a teenager. While his debut album, Life In Cartoon Motion, dealt more with the British pop singer's childhood, the Freddie Mercury-like theatrics of that album have yet to fade away from Mika's repertoire if the lead single for album no. 2, "We Are Golden," is any indication. The Boy Who Knew Too Much was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Pink), who was also responsible for Life In Cartoon Motion. The album features contributions from Imogen Heap, Owen Pallet of Final Fantasy—who does violin programming on "Rain" and Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers, Frankmusik).
