As one of the driving forces behind the soulful San Francisco house scene, Miguel Migs has consistently released quality material for years through renowned labels such as Naked and Defected. Now Migs has started his own label, Salted Music, and Get Salted Vol. 1 is its premier mixed compilation. Those who have heard Migs spin pretty much know what to expect. There is a reason he is one of the most celebrated deejays in America, and he proves it here by delivering a smooth and joyful house adventure.

The mix has a little something for everyone. It jumps through a variety of house styles, from jazzy to funky. The music, mixed to perfection, pulses with positivity and joy. The best tracks, such as the intoxicating Andy Holder remix, "Keep the Funk Alive," are aimed at the dance floor. The track simmers over cascading keys and thick percussion.

Vocals play prominently into Migs's sound, creating a lush and soulful vibe throughout. Lisa Shaw makes a welcome appearance on Li'Sha Project's "Feel," a buttery smooth production that is signature Migs. The compilation's playful combination of dance tunes and soulful lounge tracks guarantees that it will appeal to a variety of listeners. Lovers of house, jazz, soul and funk will want to get salted with Migs and soak up his block-party vibe.
