Amidst controversy that he may or may not have actually performed at a number of concerts in the later half of the 2000s, MF DOOM put together a live album from his Sept. 24, 2009, show in New York City. Expektoration is actually his second live record, with the first being 2005's Live From Planet X, which was released as one long track. For Expektoration, though, DOOM has split the album into two acts. The first draws from 2004's MM…FOOD and Madvillainy, which he created with producer Madlib, while the second act relies on cuts from DOOM's 1999 debut, Operation: Doomsday. Also featured, though not prominently, are selections from the masked supervillain's albums as Viktor Vaughn and King Geedorah.
