As far as the eclectic, multi-talented Matthew Herbert may have veered from his electronica roots over the years -- he has ventured into everything from big-band recordings to a "recomposition" of a Mahler symphony -- he shows that he's not above getting back to the basics of dance music, bringing things back to the club on the appropriately titled One Club. The rather audio verite approach finds Herbert incorporating the ambience of real live club sounds, from crowd noise to clubgoer's ringtones and more, all mixed into some properly danceable tracks.
