Matt and Kim Sidewalks

This Brooklyn-based duo has been around since 2004 but made its biggest splash in 2009 with its breakout second release, Grand. The title of this follow-up is a reference to the members' days hanging out on the sidewalks of their native New York. For this third CD, vocalist and keyboardist Matt Johnson and drummer/vocalist Kim Schifino set up shop in Atlanta, where they collaborated with producer Ben Allen, best known for his groundbreaking work with Gnarls Barkley and Animal Collective. A lead single, “Cameras,” was released three months in advance of the album.
