Review

Even if he'd never done anything else after The Jayhawks, Mark Olson would still be an alt-country/Americana legend, but he continues to push forward on his artistic journey, and he finds himself on a new label, Rykodisc, for his second solo album, Many Colored Kite. Taking a more upbeat outlook after the dark-night-of-the-soul intensity of its predecessor, the album surrounds Olson's songs with contributions from fellow singer/songwriters Neal Casal and Jolie Holland as well as Danny Frankel and producer Beau Raymond.
