Back in 1994, Mariah Carey sold a bazillion copies of Merry Christmas with songs like "All I Want For Christmas Is You," which you will hear for the rest of your life. Since kids born in '94 are almost done with high school, Carey is reclaiming her Yuletide legacy with Merry Christmas II You, a sequel to the original, with album artwork shot by David LaChappelle. To get that Christmas sound, Carey worked with producers like American Idol judge Randy Jackson and Broadwayer's Marc Shaiman, who wrote Hairspray and has been nominated for five Oscars. Carey told Showbiz 411 that Shaiman was one of her favorite collaborators: "He's so talented and can hear the chords in my head." Better chords than crazy. Here's to a happy holiday.
