It's tempting to drop names in reviewing Make Believe's debut EP (i.e., Make Believe is Joan of Arc's most recent touring band and features Tim and Nate Kinsella, though not Mike Kinsella, whose side projects include Owen and American Football), but I'm opting not to. And while some far-fetched comparisons to other bands could help describe the band from a subjective standpoint (i.e., vocalist Tim Kinsella sounds like an emo Spencer Moody fronting a pseudo-math rock band like the Detachment Kit), I have to refrain. I hated Make Believe's self-titled EP on first listen. But after a few run-throughs, I'm hooked like a victim of Candyman.

Listen to "Britt's Favorite."
