Review

The Day After Tomorrow represents the culmination of a busy year for New York rapper Maino. He dropped his Unstoppable EP in early 2010 with ambitions to release the aforementioned full-length in the summer. But the warmer months came and went with no release. Luckily for his fans – and his buzz – Maino unleashed a mixtape, The Art of War, as an appetizer to The Day After Tomorrow. The album would finally drop in late 2010, though, with Maino gaining mainstream attention thanks to a Gucci Mane-assisted single, “I Promise Ima Shine.” Along with Gucci, Maino is joined on here by Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, and The Dream, among others, while the production lineup includes Drumma Boy, Swizz Beatz, Just Blaze, the Neptunes, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.
