You wouldn't be remiss to assume that Madlib was done recording jazz-fusion projects in 2010. To be fair, the Los Angeles-based everything-man did release that breed of albums under the names of Young Jazz Rebels and the Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble. And those also coincided with his monthly Medicine Show series, which through this entry brought mixes of psychedelia and funk with brand new instrumental material. But for his seventh release, Madlib went back on his jazz tip to craft High Jazz with the help of frequent collaborators James Poyser and Karriem Riggins. The result is 90 minutes of blunted jazz tracks from Madlib's Yesterdays Universe.
