Madlib Madlib Medicine Show #5: History of the Loop Digga, 1990-2000

For the fifth entry in his monthly series for 2010, Madlib is taking his fans back. In particular, The History of the Loop Digga provides a musical journey to the '90s. This was a time when producer/rapper/jazz musician/DJ was honing his skills, before albums like 2004's Madvillainy, with MF Doom, and 2003's Champion Sound, with J Dilla. Some tracks on this compilation have made their way onto future projects. Most of the cuts on here, though, are rougher works that Madlib created for use on beat tapes he would then shop to friends and contemporaries. Consider it a musical autobiography.
