Lowell Brams Music for Insomnia

Lowell Brams is one of the co-founders of the Asthmatic Kitty label, which must have helped when he pitched this solo album. On Music for Insomnia he works with his stepson and the other co-founder of Asthmatic Kitty, Sufjan Stevens, as well as Bryce Dressner of the National. The ambient album is part of the label's Library Catalog series, which intends to be background music. Not the highest ambition, perhaps, but it's what many albums are destined to anyway.
