Nonchalantly scanning through the promo slip accompanying Lion Fever's Lustre EP, I jump excitedly when I notice that PJ Harvey is listed as a comparable artist -- during her raw but pure Rid of Me phase, I assume. Expectations aside, I slip the EP into my CD player, and as soon as the vocals kick in, I think to myself, This chick sounds so familiar ... And then it hits me: she reminds me of K.D. Lang during her appearance on the 1988 Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special. So, of course, I approve.
