A Thousand Suns represents a mini-comeback for this California-based rap-rock group that has continued to remain popular and in the public eye amidst critical snobbery. Linkin Park began working on this, their fourth studio album, in 2008, a year after the release of their previous record, Minutes to Midnight. And the sextet maintained its relationship with producer Rick Rubin, who worked on both Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns with the group's rapper/producer Mike Shinoda. Perhaps this album's most interesting quality, though, is that it will feature a fan-created remix of lead single “The Catalyst.”
