It’s fitting that many of the songs on Liam Finn’s Champagne in Seashells are about being on the road, considering the album title came from a daydream the musician had while he was seated in an airplane. The son of Crowded House’s Neil Finn, who has been touring non-stop for the past two years, ponders homesickness in the record’s danceable lead single “Long Way to Go.” Meanwhile, “Captain Cat Is Crying,” is a nine-minute psychedelic opus that contains lines from a Dylan Thomas poem and the atmospheric “Plane Crash” is an explosive opener that kicks the EP to life.
