Review

Laura Marling made a dent in the world of contemporary folk with the release of her 2008 debut, Alas, I Cannot Swim, based on more than just her talents as a songwriter. It turns out she wrote the album when she was only 17 – and actually released it when she was just 18. Her maturity bowled some folks over while others couldn't wait to her how she would develop as an artist. She would satiate those eager listeners with 2010's fantastic I Speak Because I Can and, a year later, A Creature I Don't Know. Her third album again features her working with producer Ethan Johns, who has helped create the intimate, sweeping sound of Creature.
