Iconic 90s alt-rocker Juliana Hatfield has been returning to more prolific recording pace in recent years, with Speeches Delivered To Animals and Plants being her third album in four years since she released her memoir When I Grow Up in 2008. Hatfield has announced that this will be a concept album, no doubt touching on some of the trappings of fame, failure, and depression that she touched upon in her memoir. Despite her association with alternative rock, Hatfield’s been more of a confessional singer/songwriter in recent years, and true to her recent spirit of generosity (releasing rare tracks for suggested donations and writing songs for fans on commission), portions of album sales of Speeches Delivered To Animals and Plants will go to various animal shelter charities.
