Saying an artist has remained true to himself or herself over the years is cliched, but it definitely seems to fit for Juliana Hatfield, more so than for some of her contemporaries. She's never gone putrid pop like Liz Phair, or drifted into treacly holiday music like Aimee Mann. So here we find Hatfield releasing her tenth solo album on, appropriately enough, her own label, Ye Olde. Hatfield has always been known to pal around with other musicans (think of her collaborations with Evan Dando in the '90s), and so it's no surprise to find How to Walk Away chock full of guest appearances. Those come courtesy of Matthew Caws of Nada Surf, Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs, Jody Porter of Fountains of Wayne, and even Tracy Bonham (remember "Mother Mother"?!) rocking the violin. The album was produced by Andy Chase from the band Ivy.
