John Mellencamp No Better Than This

Rock legend John Mellencamp is a man who needs no introduction. In what is both a career-savvy and perfectly natural turn, Mellencamp has hooked up with T-Bone Burnett, who recently gained much acclaim for his song “The Weary Heart” from the Jeff Bridges film Crazy Heart. In an effort to overhaul his sound, Mellencamp has distanced himself from his rocker image and instead opts for a tribute to American Folk a la Woody Guthrie, and hopes to achieve a “complete change of style and voice.” One of the album’s tracks, “Save Some Time to Dream,” was premiered at a political fundraiser for President Obama.
