Review

After releasing his proper debut, The Brick: Bodega Chronicles, in 2007, Brooklyn rapper Joell Ortiz's potential would go mostly wasted until October 2008. It was then that he was rallied by Joe Budden for the track “Slaughterhouse,” which also featured Crooked I and Royce Da 5'9”. The four rappers would then go on to form Slaughterhouse and release their self-titled debut in 2009. All the while, Ortiz was prepping his sophomore album, Free Agent, which would finally drop in early 2011 after numerous delays. Its release must have lit a fire under the rapper, though, as he quickly announced a third record, Get Rich Homie. There is no release date or track list yet, but we expect his Slaughterhouse pals will appear for guest verses along with producers such as DJ Premier and Nottz.
