Since 2001, Detroit's Jimmy Edgar has made a name for himself by bending the rules and extending the boundaries of pop and electronic music. He continues to do so with XXX, melding the kinetics of funk to the jagged detritus of electronic production methods. Edgar recorded the majority of the album in a home studio on analogue equipment before putting the final touches on digitally.
