Jay Rock Black Friday

While watching his debut album, Follow Me Home, get delayed to 2011, Jay Rock didn't mull around and let his buzz wear off. He, one of the XXL Top 10 Freshman of '10, said goodbye to his major label deal with Warner Bros, signed with indie label Strange Music, and continued establishing his fan base through 2010. One way he did that was making his Black Friday mixtape an interactive experience. The project, which finds him rapping over beats such as Dr. Dre's “Kush” and new productions, gained some of its tracks thanks to fans' feedback on Twitter. Those fans also helped shape the mixtape's cover art.
