Nineties alt-rock mainstays Jane's Addiction madeheadlinesthroughout2010concerning a possiblefourth studio album. To sum up: after a lengthy reunion tour, rumors of a fourth album in the works started spreading. An announcement that Duff McKagan joined the band was quickly followed by an announcement that Duff McKagan quit the band. It was then announced that Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol) would produce the album. Rumors of a replacement bassist were finally put to rest when Perry Farrell announced TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek played bass and helped write songs for the album. The album was then officially titled The Great Escape Artist (confirming earlier rumors). Farrell then described the album as a mix between old Jane's Addiction and contemporary Muse and Radiohead, sparking rumors as to what exactly this would sound like. A band with a history like Jane's Addiction's really shouldn't do it any other way though, right?
