This was a review? I call ********. This is a paragraph, kids. Composed of almost straight garbage. I'd like to point out that I'm a college grad in my early thirties and I still listen to Jack Johnson. My uncle, who's fifty something now, got me into him.

On topic, I can't wait for this album.

Hey your intitled to your opinion and everything, I mean some people don't like jackjohnson cause he's to mello which is about half my family but for me I liked him since I first heard breakdown and most of the rest of his songs had to grow on me but once I got into it I love everysingle song. So maybe once u actually hear his album ull like it? haha or not

I take it that your not much of a Jack Johnson fan, seeing as how everyone who commented on your review disagrees with your comments... Try listening to one of his albums and if you don't like him fine, but he is very talented and also my Dad who is 51 is a big fan. CAN'T WAIT for the new album.

Im taking it your not a fan of jack...thats fine. Although this doesn'te exactly make sense his new album he says is going to include a more ubeat electric guitar tune...not like sleep through the static. Personally I love all of his albums cause they show growth in himself as a human and show how his views change as you get older or stay the same. Its a tragedy that Jack Johnson's kind music reaches the young minds that are growing up today. You sir need to quit your job as a "music critic" because you are terrible at it. Wow, so many things wrong with this review. im 18 and my mom is 50 and I believe she is a bigger fan than I am and he is my Favorite artist. I believe you should quit your job as a critic because you are god-awuful. His mellow mood is a relief from that screaming garbage they play now! How about you go and actually listen to his music then come back? kay?

First of all, I dont understand why people that don't like him waste their time coming on here and commenting on something that means nothing to them. Seriously, whats the point. He's an amazing artist with an increadible talent unlike a majority of popular artists today. He puts his heart into his music and is a true inspiration. Yall are quick to be critical, but if you think you can do better then please,I think we'd all love to see. I can't wait to hear his new album:) Im sure it'll be just as amazing as the rest, if not better:)

WoW this has to be the most idiotic review I have ever read, every point the idiot makes about this album is completely opposite of what the actual truth is. First putting an album out every 2 years is actually really fast, go to answers.com and type average to time to create a music album, and it is 3years. And as for the more of the same Jack Johnson why would the fans want him to be anything different thats what makes an artist unique you jack@$$. Aerosmith, the eagles, dr. dre, snoop dogg all have that unique swagger, voice etc. about them that makes certain fans like them, so once again stupid comment, this is the last time ill ever come to this site, with idiotic, non researched lack of a journalism perspective, and professional review. Jack Johnson is a great song writer, as well as an outstanding guitar player. His songs aren't only for college age girls but anyone who wants to listen to a light, beachy tune.

Jack Johnson is a very original artist, through everything his band has seen (years of songwriting, success, etc..) he has stayed so true to his sound and how he writes. putting him in the stereotype of 'college kids' and what not just isn't true. his music and sound is very universal and can appeal to almost anybody, NOT JUST college kids. it has always bothered me how people put acoustic bands in the cliche 'college kids' category. both jack and dmb are amazing and they do not deserve to be put in a certain age/group category. quality music should not be categorized.

Just got a chance to listen to the album. In my opinion I am more of a fan of the older stuff. Sleep through the static was a decent album but showed a whole new different side of Jack. To The Sea is the same style as STTS but is all uppaced without the slow songs like Angel. etc. If you are a Jack fan check out all the other artist under the Brushfire label. Many of them share many similarities. ie. ALO, and Matt Costa. All in all very enjoyable album. 3.5-4 / 5 stars.

I agree with the majority of the posts. You're really bad at your job Mr. Martin. In regards to his fan base I notice it ranges from my friend's parents who are in their 50's to my little niece who is 11 years old. Loving the album. "Turn Your Love" has to be my favorite track at the moment.

listened to the album.. its not like his older stuff that i really liked.. like the album on and on.. but it isnt horrible. Hopefully in the future he will make a few more records like his older stuff.

well.... i dont think this guy gives jack enough credit. Jack is great at what he does and he makes everyone fall in to the peaceful surfer moodd..... but remember this guy is just payed to type the facts so chill guys:)

Having lived in Hawaii and knowing where Jack is coming from, I can say it is a shame that he's been relegated to "frat pop". Ironic, since most of the topics he sings about are entirely too deep for a typical frat boy to comprehend, or if they did, would probably respond with some comment involving the term "fag".

Yes, Jack does the same formula over and over again. But unlike pretentious critics, Jack has never really gave a damn about any image...he simply sings the songs of where he's from and what he knows. Somehow that's more "real" than 90% of the garbage that's being hailed as "great music" these days.

I would like to stick to the subject of Jack Johnson's new album.

1 or 2 tracks (such as 'at or with me' and the current single 'you and your heart') will make it to top 10 of everywhere around the world. These songs remind me of JJ at his best on 'in between dreams' and 'On and On'. Musicaly there's not much new stuff or new tricks added but thats not bothering JJ himself nor the fans including myself, because there's so much more to JJ's music. The lyrics, the lifestyle, I mean when was the last time you heard some artist selling 243,000 copies in the first week with a record recorded in 3 weeks in Solar powered Studio!!!!!!.
Go and check him and his friends out live next time he plays a gig near you - cool stuff.

psh oh jeeze, jack johnson is amazing with every song he sings, he is incredibly talented! and yes people are intiltled to there own opinions but if your going to say bad stuff about an amazing singer, keep those thoughts to yourself! I LOVE JACK!
