
Ja Rule apparently didn't want to go to prison for gun possession charges without making a statement beforehand. He began working on two albums, The Renaissance Project and L.ove I.s P.ain 2, that would drop June 7, 2011 -- the day before his two-year-long sentence began. The latter serves as the sequel to his triple-platinum third record, Pain Is Love, which was released in 2001. Its lead single, the Queen-sampling "Real Life Fantasy," displayed that he's intent on making this one of his most self-revelatory projects yet.
