Review

I'm From Barcelona's Forever Today represents the band's first record since 2008's Who Killed Harry Houdini?, a reasonably successful project filled with infectious pop numbers and hints of melancholy. Alsoboosted by its fair share of pop tunes and reflective moments, Forever Today, their third album, was created through two distinctly different sessions. The first found all 27 spending five days together in Gothenburg, Sweden before moving to Varberg, which is on the country's coast, for the second session. During that follow-up session, frontman Emanuel Lundgren said the band took part in "a soul searching weekend spent by the sea, looking out at the surfers defying gravity outside.” He further explained that they recorded all of Forever Today live in the studio to capture their collaborative energy on tape.
