Review ·

For his ninth studio album, Ice Cube has said he wants to return to his independent, gangster roots. As such, he's releasing I Am the West on his Lench Mob label and linking with producers such as DJ Quik, E-A-Ski, Dr. Dre, and others for that classic G-Funk sound. Lyrically, Cube criticizes corporate greed and our obsession with technology while also taking shots at up-and-coming West Coast acts and bling-rappers. As he told Rap Basement in an interview: "Real shit that ain't got nothing to do with money, cars, and all the shit most rappers talk about."
