Review

If not for Ian Brown's vigilant hold-out, we would most likely be talking a lot more about a Stone Roses reunion at this time. Despite (or perhaps because of) Brown's idiosyncratic vocals, the Stone Roses wisely decided to put off a reunion without their former frontman.

More confusing is that Brown chose to release My Way, an album dedicated to Michael Jackson (he finished mastering the album on the date of the late King of Pop's death). Brown's solo career has been something of a baffling enterprise, but he has maintained a remarkable fanbase in the U.K. in the 20 years since the Stone Roses debut despite all obstacles. Apparently, he was adored after all.
