Tune in next week: same punk time, same punk channel. Hurry-Up Offense's power-punk stylings recall the early days of NOFX and Green Day, Less than Jake, Newfound Glory, Unwritten Law, (insert Warped Tour lineup here). The three songs on the Labor Day EP boast the typical everypunk tricks: fast drums, loud guitars, the same vocal harmonies beaten nearly to death. And now that Blink 182 has officially "matured," it seems that someone should take their place as punk's mainstream mainstays, and that might just be Hurry-Up Offense, already on the right track after appearing on Carson Daly's late-night show three times. Tune in to this band soon -- you may see something big.
