
While dad is squeezing the last nanoseconds out of his catalog every week on Monday Night Football, Junior is ready to step to the head of the family with his sixth release. Damn Right, Rebel Proud follows III's 2006 breakthrough Straight to Hell and continues with the album's schizophrenic mix of country, rock and pure punk. Few albums can contain traditional, populist songs such as "Workin' Man" and "Me and My Friends" and a ten minute opus dedicated to shock rocker G.G. Allin. Hank Williams III, however, can genre hop just like his father and grandfather before him. Damn Right, Rebel Proud is punk for the country crowd and, according to Williams, country "with a little scream for the kids in black."
