These days GZA seems to be better known for his punch lines about diversified bond investments than for his music both independent of and apart of the Wu-Tang Clan. Fortunately, the emcee unleashes a two-fold attack this summer to remind listeners of his roots: his fifth solo album and a tour wherein he performs his seminal Liquid Swords album. While the tour is for the nostalgic, the album promises to be a forward-looking venture. The fittingly titled Pro Tools may or may not actually have been recorded using the eponymous recording software, but the professional precision suggested suits the emcee's reputation. Wu-Tang familiars like RZA, Mathematics and Bronze Nazareth provide the backdrop, as well as new school bangers like Black Milk.
