Fox’s hit comedy Glee is marking its return to the prime time airwaves with this mini-album comprising covers of Madonna songs. The reason for the release is a promotional tie-in: It’s being put out to coincide with a Madonna-themed episode. The Madonna-Glee connection came about after the singer announced in Entertainment Weekly that she was a fan of the show and gave the producers free reign over her catalog. The album is the first “themed” soundtrack to come from the TV series but the third overall release (the first two being Glee: The Music, Volume 1 and Glee: The Music, Volume 2). The title, by the way, is a play on Madonna’s contribution to the soundtrack of the old TV show Felicity, "The Power of Goodbye" -- a song that does not appear on The Power of Madonna.
