Somerville, Mass.-based trio Gem Club began appearing on music blogs in the fall of 2010 when they self-released Acid and Everything, a ballad-heavy EP. That buzz then landed them a deal with Hardly Art in June 2011 to release their proper full-length debut, Breakers. The nine tracks on the record showcase the three-piece's developed sound, which builds and expands on the lush bedroom burners heard on their EP.
