Fucked Up's Matador debut The Chemistry of Common Life did a lot to remind a younger generation of indie rock's hardcore punk roots without pushing the envelope too hard. For those that want that enveloped pushed harder, Couple Songs, a collection of the profanely-named Toronto band's singles from 2002-2009, will no doubt be an album to watch in early 2010. Fucked Up released a singles compilation in 2004 called Epics In Minutes, but apparently that was not epic enough. The follow-up singles comp comes in a double album format. Fucked Up has released a ridiculous number of ridiculous 7" singles over the past decade, and Couples in Minutes cuts out the need to be an obsessive collector (though the band certainly has a few already).
