Review

Boston-based synth-poppers Freezepop steadily increased their fan base following the release of their debut, 2000's Freezepop Forever. But the quartet's slightly goofy attitude didn't win over heaps of new listeners until "Less Talk More Rokk," off Future Future Future Perfect, caused a minor break for the band in 2007. The track was featured in Guitar Hero 2 and almost topped the iTunes electronic chart. The band then hit the studio to record its fourth album, Imaginary Friends, which has been dubbed as much sleeker and more sophisticated than previous efforts. Hardcore fans need not worry, though, as the danceable synth grooves and thudding beats are still here. Freezepop has just grown up a little bit, that's all.
