Review

Fountains of Wayne enter their 15th year as a band still tied to the legacy of 2003’s “Stacy’s Mom” by far their biggest hit and one that anticipated the rise of the term  “MILF” to the mainstream. Sky Full of Holes, the band’s fifth studio album, comes as their subsequent releases have led to Fountains of Wayne's waning critical respect as a fine power pop band and sluggish post-”Stacey’s Mom” sales. Sky Full of Holes is the band’s first release on Yep Roc records, a label known for harboring moderately successful alternative acts in their latter years.
