Mauro Refosco may now be better known as Thom Yorke's percussionist for his new live band, but the New York-based Brazilian band Forro In The Dark, which he founded, is his day job. To provide a quick crash course, the term forro is a traditional Brazilian genre of music that fuses elements of folk with percussion to create a very festive sound. As with their debut album, Forro In The Dark play around with the traditional sound by including guest vocalists, most notably Sabina Sciubba of Brazilian Girls—who of course is not Brazilian.
