For everyone still waiting for Guns 'N' Roses to settle on a lineup and just put out a goddamned record already, Fixer might be exactly what you're looking for. Singer Evan Saffer's urgent wails invariably remind me of the fabled Axl Rose -- which is either a huge plus or a crippling minus depending on your taste. One thing you can't say is that they aren't fun, as you can easily imagine these shirtless wonders guzzling bourbon and breaking shit on stage after listening to the record. Derivative, yes, but not to be overlooked -- maybe hair rock will be the next retro craze.
